So last weekend didn’t go as well as I’d hoped, whilst not expecting any chocolates, or even wine, I hadn’t expected to land my self only a handful of spots from the bottom of the fleet. Hey ho, the conditions were difficult with little or no wind coming from every direction. I still have a lot to learn about RG65’s thats for sure.
So this weekend I’m back to something I know, the DF65 and the UK Nationals at Gosport. It should be fun, although all the forecasts are pointing to another weekend of sitting by a pond watching for wind…….that’s a lot of miles for a sit down, but that’s just the rub of the green I guess.
So I’ve made myself a suit of my own stealth sails to see how we get on with them and I’ve also gone for a dashing set of white painted foils, which should help identify whatever it is on my keel slowing me down!
That’ll help with the obstruction identification!
No expectations again this weekend, just some good fun sailing and social with some great mates!
I’d usually be back in the office bright and early on Monday morning, however it’s our wedding anniversary on Monday and I’m whisking Mrs Boatyard away for a break at The Lake Vyrnwy Hotel and Spa, not entirely my thing as you can imagine, but I’m looking forward to a break that doesn’t involve boats and racing. So we’re spending a quality 48 hours together by a lake which will be lovely. So I will not be back in the office until Wednesday morning when we’ll be steaming on with a whole raft of orders, we’ve already got a good number stacked up that we haven’t got to this week, so next week promises to be both short and super busy.
As always the shop is open to take your orders, but as above please don’t expect our usual speedy service over the next ten days to two weeks, however we’ll get through it as fast as we can when we return.
Enjoy your sailing this coming weekend wherever it is.
A little bit of this weeks work.
