Overview

Whilst we all love the DF65 and DF95 for being such a great introduction to the sport of radio sailing we have found that as new fleets have grown people struggle to pick out their black or white boat from other peoples boats, which can become quite frustrating.

To this end some people have taken the time to repaint their hull a different colour or, in the case of the DF65, even bought a replacement white hull and transferred the bits over and solved the problem that way. When swapping hulls will cost you over £50 and a paint job will take days to do correctly we decided that the issue of hull colour needed some thought so we fired up the kettle, made a brew and got thinking.

After much head scratching, lots of research, many sheets of vinyl and plenty of tea and coffee we have come up with several elegant and pocket friendly solutions to the problem which allows you to change the colour of your boat from black to any one of 24 colours in less than ten minutes without any mess at all.

Best of all if you get bored with the colour you can swap it out for the next race meeting.

Details

Each set comes on an easy peel sheet and comprises of at least six stickers plus an instruction sheet so you get the job done correctly first time round. The instructions are available at the top of this page as a PDF, just click the link in red.

The deck stickers have all the cut outs for deck fittings and hatches so that you can apply it easily and without any bother. A little care needs to be taken around the battery hatch on the DF65 V1 – 5 when applying the full length deck sticker but it can easily be done by even the most ham fisted of people like me!

We have tried our own very sticky deck patches on top of the deck sticker and we have had no issues in removing them and re-applying new patches on top of the sticker. Although a little care is required when doing this there is enough contact area around the hatches to keep the patches stuck to the original deck in all but one area on the inside of the battery hatch.

The hull sticker is designed to fit snug up to the bow bumper and takes in all of the topside area from waterline to deck edge and is, again, easy to apply. If applying a full length set to a later spec boat with the removable decals then we recommend that these are removed before applying your hull stickers for a better looking finish.

Colours

Ever mindful that people crave something a little bit different for their boat we have decided to offer a range of colour options that give enough choice for everyone to realise their own colour schemes without too much hassle.

As you can see from the photo below we are able to offer 11 different colours but rather than just offering a gloss sticker we are able to offer each colour in a matt finish also which reduces glare on the water and to be honest looks pretty sharp too.

 

Available colours – some may vary slightly from the above picture, if you have a very specific colour please contact us before ordering.

We can also offer a carbon finish sticker (far right of the picture) as well as matt black, which again looks pretty cool. This gives you 24 colour options. If you cannot see the colour that you want get in touch and tell us what you’d like, if we can get it, we can do it!

So you’ve seen how great these sticker sets look and you’re thinking that they are going to be a fortune.

They aren’t.

They start at just £10…….including detailed instructions.

This is the cheapest, easiest, most hassle free way to change the colour of your DF65 or DF95 no if’s but’s or maybe’s.

Why not stand out from the crowd, it’ll cost you less than the cans of paint and primer that you nearly bought to do the job a year ago, will take less than half an hour and won’t make any mess at all!

Options

As if we weren’t offering enough we’ve got a couple of neat options for you so your boat can stand out even more.

We now cut all our sticker sets in plain format which allows us to keep stock and speed up shipping times even more. However we can add a couple of ready to apply stickers to personalise your sticker set a little more.

For V1 – 5 DF65 we can add a deck sticker with country and sail number and also a hull sticker with either sail number or name.

For V6 DF65 we can offer the hull sticker with name or number, unfortunately we cannot offer a deck sticker.

For DF95 we can add your country and sail number to the aft deck sticker and also a hull sticker with either sail number or name.

Choose your favourite font and we’ll do the rest, if you do not specify a font we use Arial rounded bold MT as our stock font.
